Seeing Jesus in Eight Pictures

When we think about Jesus, sometimes our view can be limited. But what if you could see Him in eight vivid, biblical ways? In the first lesson of Making Radical Disciples, we’re introduced to Jesus as:

1. Soldier – Defending and fighting for us.

Community Like a Tea Shop, Not a Classroom

Jesus didn’t limit His teaching to synagogues or special places. Many of His greatest lessons happened in everyday settings—homes, roads, and even tea shops of His time. True learning and transformation often begin in a relaxed, welcoming space where questions are encouraged and stories are shared.

Imagine your discipleship group as a tea shop. Everyone has a seat at the table. Here, we learn not only from the “teacher,” but from one another. This approach reflects Jesus’ way: relational, practical, and deeply personal.

Learning by Listening, Seeing, and Doing

We each learn differently. Some of us absorb truth best by listening to Scripture. Others connect more through seeing, whether in illustrations, dramas, or pictures. Still others need hands-on practice to truly grow. The discipleship journey in this lesson intentionally includes all three—so everyone can thrive.

And most importantly, we depend on the Holy Spirit as our true Teacher. Even the best training is just a beginning—real growth happens as God Himself guides us.
