If you could give Jesus any gift, what would it be? Many of us long for a faith that matters—a life that leaves a mark on others. In Lesson 2 of Making Radical Disciples, Daniel B. Lancaster invites us to explore what it means to multiply our faith, not just keep it for ourselves.

A Steward’s Vision: Fruitfulness Matters to God

Jesus taught about stewards—people entrusted with resources, time, and influence. A steward’s calling isn’t just about guarding what we have, but investing it for a lasting return. Jesus speaks to our hearts: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). He wants us to use all He’s given—our gifts, our days, our love—for His Kingdom.

Multiplication is God’s idea from the beginning. His first command to humanity was, “Be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:28). Jesus echoed this with His last command: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15). Fruitfulness isn’t just about numbers, but about legacy—lives transformed because you said yes to God.

The “222 Principle”: Training Others Who Will Train Others

Paul told Timothy, “The things which you have heard from me… entrust these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2). This “222 Principle” is the secret of spiritual multiplication. When you share your faith and train someone to do the same, God uses you to shape generations you may never meet.

A Lesson from Two Seas

Imagine the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. The Sea of Galilee is alive—full of fish, surrounded by trees and villages. Water flows both in and out. The Dead Sea, in contrast, receives water but never gives it out; it is lifeless, with nothing growing near it. Our spiritual lives can be the same. When we only receive blessings but never share them, we grow stagnant. When we pour out what God gives, He fills us with even more.

From Knowledge to Impact: Why Training Matters

Many believers know a lot, but see little transformation. Jesus’ way is simple: give what you receive. You don’t need to be a Bible expert to help someone else grow. Just start where you are—share what you know, encourage others, and keep the circle going.

Multiplication happens in real life: a mom prays with her daughter, a friend shares a Bible verse, a women’s group learns together and each member shares the lesson with someone new. Every act of faith, no matter how small, is a seed in God’s harvest.

What Will You Offer Jesus?

At the end of the day, we all want to bring Jesus a gift that lasts. Will it be just a handful of memories—or a great multitude of lives touched through you? God invites us to invest our hearts, our time, and our stories for His Kingdom.

Ready to multiply? Start with one step: share what you learned today with a friend or loved one. You never know how far that simple act may go.
